okay but calling Peninsula a sequel to Train to Busan is kinda insane ngl 😭 like this does NOT feel like it belongs in the same universe at all (at least for me). it pretty much throws away everything that made Train to Busan work like the tension, the emotional punch, the storytelling... and just goes full on action for no reason. like okay… now it's trying to be mad max but with zombies, except the CGI is kinda rough and sometimes looks straight up unfinished 💀 the writing is... uhm... idk. plot holes everywhere, nothing really flows, and the first hour is such a struggle to sit through. i kept waiting for it to finally *hit* but it just never does. some of the chase scenes are kinda fun i guess, but even those get ruined by the janky visuals. at some point i was like why does this movie even exist. expanding the Train to Busan universe sounded cool in theory but this ain’t it BUT okay… i’ll be fair. the actors did what they could. their performances are probably the only thing keeping this from being a total flop. was i entertained? sure. but as a "sequel"? yeah no this is a huge miss
