just watched hunger and i think this movie was an interesting movie. it somehow describes how people work in professional kitchen, like The Menu. because i've seen that film, its honestly hard not to have certain expectations going in. the story blends the world of cooking with themes of social inequality. from what i've read, it also serves as a strong critique of current socio political issues in Thailand. i thought the acting was solid overall. there are a lot of interesting moments, especially during the final "battle" between chefs and their dishes. the film really makes the culinary world feel intense and fascinating through its storytelling. i also loved the sound design and cinematography. some scenes can be quite gross or intense, which might not be for everyone, but thats also part of what makes it so intriguing. as for the plot, i feel like it could've been more refined. the pacing is a bit slow, and the ending feels slightly underwhelming. but overall, it's still worth watching.
is it expensive because its special? or special because its expensive?
