watched The Devil Wears Prada 2 as an adult and oh… this hits way different. this time its not just fashion and scary boss, this is corporate reality knocking on the door. layoffs, dying print media, everything shifting under your feet. like… the industry said 'adapt or get left behind' and even Miranda Priestly isn't immune. and that's the interesting part. Miranda still runs the room without breaking a sweat, but you can kinda see the cracks now. not fully explored (which is such a ball dropped moment tbh), but enough to make you think, "oh… she's human too?" the movie tries to balance being sharp and being warm, and sometimes it walks a fine line… sometimes it kinda trips 😭 like the plot builds things up and then just doesn't stick the landing. a bit underbaked in parts. BUT. they. are. ate. they came to serve. everyone looks like they found the fountain of youth and gatekept it. outfits still iconic, presence still insane. no crumbs left. and even though the story isn't as tight as the first one, there are moments that hit. especially when it leans into that quiet panic of "what happens when the world moves on without you?" overall? not groundbreaking, but not a flop either. more like… a slow burn with a few fumbles, but still worth clocking in for. still stylish. still dramatic. still a little messy... but in a way that kinda works. Good job Miranda, Andy, Emily, and Nigel 🥺🫶.
