May is Mental Health Awareness Month :) I didn’t expect that reading Every Last Word would inspire me even more to pursue psychology, but it did. The story made me realize how difficult it can be to feel “normal” while dealing with mental health struggles. It showed how isolating it is to fight silent battles, even when you’re surrounded by people. At the same time, it reminded me how important it is to find real friends, people who truly understand and accept you. More than anything, it made me reflect on self-discovery. Finding yourself isn’t easy, and sometimes we lose who we are just to fit in. But the process of understanding yourself, no matter how messy, is what truly matters. For anyone who feels lost or is dealing with things on their own, I hope you find time to read this amazing book. :)
You start being kind to yourself, making decisions that are best for you, not best for everyone else. You look around at the people in your life, one by one, choosing to hold on to the ones who make you stronger and better, and letting go of the ones who don’t.
