Okay, so first of let me just say WAW🙀!!! What a masterpiece. From the plot to the characters to the world building. Don't get me started on the world building cause it's INCREDIBLE. Like giant animal riders..., hello sign me uppp.
What I love most about this book is how it unapologetically weaves magic into the already colorful African culture, turning it into some otherworldly. Never have I read something so engaging, so thrilling and so action packed. Tomi Adeyemi's ability to write a book that fill like a movie in your head never seizes to amaze me.
Gurl, I was literally on the edge of my seat. This book would just give you some nice momentum and hit you in the gut with some thrilling action the VERY NEXT SECOND. I was all like 😮 ☺️ 😮 😭 all the way through.
Fave Character: I'd say Amari. First of, love the name. Amari is so sweet, gentle and genuine but those who. See that as her sign of weakness are proven wrong the moment they think that. Girl's braver than hell. I the end, the very thing that became her lifelong trauma was the very thing she drove a sword into (I'm talking about her father by the way, the wicked king) I love that she feel in love with Tzain. I was really shipping those two, and was more amazed to discover that that's the author's favorite couple as well Yayyy😻!!!
Overall, love this book, love the magic system and world building. And if you're into epic fantasy with divers characters with unique magic, then defi lately give this book a try.
PS: this book inspired me to start writing my own, but that's, a story for another day. Bye now👋🏾 😘.
Harmani Out✌🏾
