My gosh, this song, man! What good thing can I not say about it! Movies has got to be, hand down, my favorite Conan song! It just speaks to my being in a way his other songs just dont quite reach (they come close but not quite). I'll play this song on loop for hours and hours, and I sing the chorus almost daily! The mixture of the guitar, and drums, and Conan's vocals is heavenly~ I can not express how absolutely amazing this song is! I scream the lyrics either out loud or in my head every listen through. There's a melancholy anger behind the lyrics and melody that I relate to more wholly than his other songs. The first time I heard this song I was an official conehead. Mind you, I had been listening to some of his other songs for a while at this point. The MOMENT that chorus hit me for the first time, I was absolutely hooked (line and sinker). I've been obsessed with his music ever since! The only other songs that have come close to giving me the same feeling as Movies, are "Yours," "Astronomy," "The Cut That Always Bleeds", and "Caramel". There's just something so raw and emotional about these songs that just seems to make me ascend. 10000/5 stars! If the system would allow me to to rate this infinitely, I would.
