I'm already trying to figure out when I can go see this again.
the del Toro Frankenstein is very good but THIS is what I wanted out of a Frankenstein adaptation. it is its own thing while being unapologetically a love letter to Shelley, classic literature overall, and the adaptations that came before it (including Young Frankenstein).
this is a film about female rage and love without sacrificing who you are. it's about autonomy and revenge and how that need for retaliation doesn't always feel good. I am floored by the film and I cannot stop thinking about it.
Christian Bale is great but Jesse Buckley steals the show. I am in awe of her. PLEASE GO SEE THIS!
