I think this was released in the wrong day with the wrong marketing bc this definitely isn't a Christmas day fun time however I did enjoy this. I couldn't stop smiling through the first hour or so and I was invested in this family through everything they faced. Hugh is great if you like him in these types of roles but Kate?!? Captivating. I couldn't stop watching her. I understand people being blindsided by the whiplash in this plot, though.

Didn't care enough about the characters for there to be much emotional payoff. Zombie scenes were fun and tense. Ending VERY bad!!

I'm still trying to fully gather my thoughts but I know this story of a woman traumatized by losing 4 children before they turned a year old will stick with me for a long time.

honestly such a good time. Alexander Skarsgard is so good because he was infuriating. the final shots of the movie were so hilarious to me 😭

the casting is not great. the soundtrack is great. the movie is 20 mins too long. the way it's made to look like it's all happening is this doll house fantasy world as a nod to the way Cathy and heathcliff (mostly Cathy) are just playing with people like toys is interesting. this is a bad adaptation of the book but I genuinely don't care about that.

this has been one of my all time favorite movies for years now. I got to see it in theaters for the first time tonight. so beautiful and sad. I think about this story often.
