True terror comes 3 seconds after the screen fades to black in the last scene of the movie and the legend appears: 'Inspired by real events.' A young pregnant Danish woman helps an elderly woman run a clandestine adoption service. The thing is, as time goes on, and the babies come and go, things are getting weirder and weirder. Set in the early 20th century, after World War I, the film shows in very raw ways human misery and all that women must go through when they have become pregnant and there is no one to support them. Honestly, it is too gloomy, and although the subject is interesting and leaves one thinking, in the end, only if you want to see the lowest of humanity, go ahead, if you are in the mood for something happier, stay away.
