I mean I kinda liked season 1, but there's not one character worth rooting for. serena is two faced, always playing victim when she is just as messed up as the others. chuck is absolutely horrible? I don't get how people got past the fact that he tried to rape serena, jenny, basically called blair a whore, then sold her to save his hotel. Nate too, can't stay loyal, no sincerity, and Dan in season 1 was so perfect but he got soooo annoying towards the end. and I hate Vanessa with all my heart. narcissist with a saviour complex, always meddling in other people's business. Blair was very insecure, mean, rude, selfish. Jenny was weird. I don't get how people can root for such characters. I played it in the background while doing other stuff for later seasons.
