I feel like it’s been a long time since I’ve seen a crime thriller that is completely serious—no jokes, no over-the-top action scenes bordering on or defying reality. This is a dead-serious film with a grounded plot; there are no metaphysical dilemmas or threats to national security, the planet, the universe, or the multiverse. Here, the only things at stake are 'morals,' boundaries, and the self-imposed 'ethics' of a thief who has decided to take from those who have the most—those who earned it by twisting laws and rules to their own whim and benefit. Chris Hemsworth delivers a rarely-seen type of performance that is both convincing and captivating due to his character's code and demeanor. It's a great heist movie and the first 'best film' of 2026.
