What an incredible piece of sci-fi this is. A true representative of the genre, with heart, a clear vision, and very powerful messages. Arco is a little kid who steals his older sister’s cape and travels to the year 2076; he must find his way back to his own time so his parents don't scold him. Beyond the story—which is definitely its strongest suit—the world-building and sheer imaginativeness of it all are very impressive. It features time travel, robots, self-sustaining energy communities, zero-gravity beds, and so much more. No matter your age, I think it’s hard not to find yourself imagining what you’d do in the reality this movie presents. It simply blew my mind, and while I’m sure it won’t win the Oscar for Best Animated Feature, it’s my favorite of the nominees I’ve seen so far. Nobody should miss out on this movie for THE WHOLE FAMILY; you won't regret it.
