The coffee was alright, I’ve tried about 3 drinks here to explore their menu. The drinks are overall very milky (like straight up milk), I can’t taste the coffee at all lol. Listen, I like milky coffee and I drink cold glasses of milk at night to help me go to sleep. I wouldn’t say the drinks are bad (because I like milk, I live for milk and dairy im sorry) but I don’t wanna spend money on cold glasses of milk when I specifically go to a cafe to get caffeinated.
The atmosphere (interior design) is cozy, there’s tons of local art you can buy such as pins, keychains, stickers and other stuff. They even sell books which is cool too! And I love the concept of this cafe.
The prices are also pretty affordable, they range from 100-200 pesos which is alright for what they sell.
The points above, as they are, would make me rate the cafe higher. Probably a 3-star rating would be appropriate. However, this is where I start with the cons.
1. The staff do not keep good track of the orders. I’ve gone here multiple times and my drinks have always taken 10+ minutes to be prepared. And considering that the drinks I got where mostly milk, I don’t understand how it could take that long especially when the line isn’t actually long.
2. The line isn’t long because the area is so small. There’s probably like only 4-8 seats around the cafe, and if I had to create a guesstimate of the area size of the establishment, it’s probably only about 20sqm, it’s smaller than my room. It can’t seat a lot of people, which sucks because of my next concern.
3. The cafe goers here (the regulars) are friends with the staff/owners and they’re always either laughing histerically, doing loud self-monologues, are in groups and are standing or sitting on the floor, crowding in the middle of the room and cramping up the space, or generally do not have a sense of social awareness or personal space. These are mostly young people, which I’d guess are in high school or college, but there’s one group of GUYS (specifically this group of guys) that I notice that keep on announcing their discord mod activities like it’s something to brag about, going on ACTUAL self-monologues about really weird things.
Which is funny because this cafe’s reviews on Google mention that the place is “LGBTQ” friendly, however, these people are allowed to openly state misogynistic and homophobic rhetoric in the presence of the staff that, mind you, they’re on friendly terms with. If you want to avoid these kind of people, do not go to the cafe after lunch or after 3-4 PM. :/
The “inclusivity” this cafe brandishes on its wall with its art and the reports of the cafe being friendly towards the LGBTQ is undermined when people like those men can just loudly brag about their weird opinions in the cafe and the staff tolerate it. It’s not inclusive, it’s just tolerance and appropriate tbh. Cause wdym you’re friends with people that talk shit about the artists buying commercial space on your cafe walls? There’s kind of a disconnect there.
Granted, it’s hard to want to kick out customers but that’s the importance of having a manager or owner that’s involved with their business. I also read one Google review that the owner doesn’t pay their workers. So… not a good look.
