Mollywood Times (2026), directed by Abhinav Sunder Nayak, follows a boy who dreams of becoming a filmmaker after a life-changing experience in the cinema. His ambition is to become the greatest horror filmmaker in the Malayalam film industry. But the industry isn't a kind place, everyone seems ready to tear him apart for the sake of their own reputation and business. I'm not gonna lie, this was a "literally me" movie. I saw a lot of myself in Vineeth. It's also a horror film for every cinephile out there, but because it shows how toxic the industry can be, how years of hard work can be snatched away in front of you, and also how some unfortunate things are simply beyond your control. Very well made. I didn't realize it was from the same director who made M.U. Associates until I noticed the filmmaking style and those sudden explanatory animated sequences. Not quite on the same level, but you could call it an Indian version of The Fabelmans.
