Best standalone Spider-Man movie in Tom Holland's career. It genuinely felt like a friendly neighborhood Spider-Man film. The story itself wasn't anything groundbreaking, and the ending reminded me a bit of Thunderbolts. But the journey to get there was mesmerizing, really well done. It had a much more human tone. The filmmaking style and the darker aesthetic gave it the feel of a proper Spider-Man movie. The comic references were handled well, and the nods to Tobey Maguire's and Andrew Garfield's versions blended in naturally. The swinging was better than ever, and the web-slinging finally got the screen time it deserved. The only thing that bothered me was that the Punisher already knew who Spider-Man was, they pretty much fast-forwarded that entire part, and I wish they had explored it more. Anyways, great movie. Amazed.
