I bet most people haven’t even watched this movie, and if you want to, go in knowing absolutely nothing about it. Brutally underrated. The title makes it sound like some typical Bollywood comedy. And yeah, it has comedy, but underneath that, it’s actually very dark and psychologically deep. The story follows Sanju (Emraan Hashmi), who robs a bank with two accomplices but ends up with amnesia after an accident, leading to a chaotic life for both him and his wife (Vidya Balan). Emraan Hashmi is the highlight of the entire film. Since the story unfolds from Sanju’s perspective, you only see what he wants you to see and believe. The movie constantly drags you through different possibilities and assumptions, convincing you till the very end that he’s right about everything, only for the truth to be something entirely different. And Emraan pulls it off immaculately. Also, Amit Trivedi’s music adds this weirdly playful and silly energy to all the chaos, which makes the film even more unique. Great movie.
