The pacing is definitely not for everyone. It's deliberately slow, methodical, and occasionally repetitive following the sctructure of a true crime documentary perfectly. If you are one to expect constant jumpscares, then you may find this not aligning with your preference. The interview with Cheryl is this movie's emotional core, showing how trauma can imprison someone long even after the captor is gone. Just so so so messed up. And moreover, directors gotta stop publishing a movie where female suffering becomes their central device as if other elements won't evoke just as much terror.
