messy adulthood... loneliness... such. i started watching this series bcs i found this iconic dialogue on the instagram : "i love you." "it'll pass." i thought this would end tragically bcs from the quote itself it sounds like the love is one-sided, but guess what? once i watched the whole series, it's actually not tragic, at all. well, the love story doesn't end with a perfect ending but it's still a good one. they acknowledge each other's feelings and the most important for that kind of love story is—no one leaves. though i would say, fleabag's romance with the priest isn't what impressed me fully. sure, the priest storyline and his dynamic with fleabag kinda shocked me, but it left me like, "okay..." honestly, i value fleabag and boo's friendship more than anything else in this series. i can't pour my feelings onto words but... their connection makes me feel strange in a way i can't explain. and i know that people keep talking about the 'tragic' priest romance, but i think the real tragedy here is fleabag's loneliness. boo's death, how her dad loves her but not like her the way he likes her sister (claire), how she tries to numb the emptiness in her life through sex, jokes, and chaos... and the tiny detail of how her godmother paints the back of her head while her sister gets the full portrait is just... awful. good series.
