I reread it. It's translation is not very good. E. G: Instead of "I turn the pages" its "I turn the leaves" leaves means "Blätter" a German word for page. It's all translated very literal. I bought the english version because I thought I could improve my English. I will now buy the German version so I can actually have a pleasant experience in reading the book. Of course, the topic which the Novel is about is very Important and, unfortunately, still up to date. But the reading experience really is not good. If I was a native English speaker trying to educate myself on WWI, I'd stop reading the book because of the horrible translation.
