not going to rate this because like my feelings about Michael Jackson, I am conflicted in regards to this movie. the filmmakers were limited in regards to what they could talk about because of the stipulations outlined by the estate and that ultimately made Michael not all that interesting to follow. at its core, this is about Michael's struggle to break away from Joe Jackson but we all knew Joe was trash so it didn't really provide anything new. it's not that I wanted to watch a movie just about the scandals and the headlines but it feels like we don't know all that much about Michael outside of that and the movie didn't provide much. Michael Jackson is one of the greatest pop stars of all time. the soundtrack in incredible and if you like his music and/or just want a nostalgic movie about his early career, this will deliver but not much else.
