started this book on April 24th :) really enjoying it so far. Stratt is quite different in the book compared to the movie, she's way more brusque in the book than personable. While I haven't finished the book yet, I just think that the philosophical exercise that Stratt makes the audience ponder on is quite softer of a blow in the movie. She's almost cold in the books, but she has to be. She has her own mission and she WILL NOT fail in completing it. The movie gives her moments that allow you to ground her as part of the team that makes the crew, not just as an appointed leader among all world leaders; this is not how the book made her feel (at least to me). She doesn't make compromise nor does she reconcile with "what could be," because she knows and creates answers. It's almost socratic, tbh.
