One of my re-reads for this year: Little Women, a book that marked my childhood days. Sometimes, it's different when you read it again. And this time around, I noticed a lot of things about Amy and Laurie and why they are perfect for each other.

And just like that, it’s been 25 years since The Fellowship of the Ring came out. Twenty-five years since I came across this epic and used all persuasive language I knew to convince my parents it was worth watching—citing the use of allegory in the story, Lewis and Tolkien’s friendship, symbolism—just to watch it, because I really wanted to. And now, 25 years later, seeing it in the cinema for the first time—its tale remains so familiar and yet so relevant, the themes and dialogues are still there, but hold a deeper meaning because of life and what you’ve been through, the scenes and music still enrich the experience. It’s like going on a journey through yesteryears with an old friend and finding that a lot of what was true back then is still true today. Some stories really never get old but take on different, deeper meanings every time you go there and back again. The Fellowship of the Ring is one of those.

This book made me cry so much. It's one of those slice-of-life novels, "cozy fiction", others might call it, but it tells you a lot about family, friendships, relationships, career, and everything else about life.

One of the best books I've ever read. If you love cooking or the description of food, you'll love this. If you love reading about how certain dishes have stories and memories attached to them, you'll like this even more.
