O CAPTAIN! MY CAPTAIN! no one prepared me for this. I just— I was good. I was really good. I feel seen, healed and heartbroken all at the same time.

“I like it when you laugh.”“I like it when you make me laugh.” so you mean to tell me we can watch and cry over a good love story again without anyone dying or leaving??????

my first film for the month AND IT’S THIS GOOD. no notes, honestly. it sent THE message as clear as day. it got its point across without any !!overbearing moralizing!! or shoving anything down your throat or at least, i hope so!!!maris racal and the whole cast were so good. it was an honor to watch them portray these characters, esp maris. every time i see her play a character, she is the character. SHE IS ALWAYS GOING THROUGH IT. she goes beyond her past roles all the time.may this film truly help and get the message through when it comes to the real-world necessities our women need. when it comes to reproductive health, nothing is just for convenience. and it’s not only about the ending—it’s ALSO about how important it is to equip the youth with the actual, necessary knowledge about the topic. it’s not something that should be hushed. let our women know what they can do for themselves, and what they should never allow men—or anyone else—to decide for them!!! at higit sa lahat, itigil ang ipokrisya!!! bilang katoliko at pilipino, how do we manage to continue in shaming other people? there SHOULD always be room for conversations pero laging pinapangunahan ng pamamahiya, ng pagtawag ng mga pangalan when kindness should always be the one upfront ?!!! dahil sa wrong order of priority, hindi nakikita ng tao yung tunay na pinagdadaanan ng ibang bumoboses at humihingi ng tulong.

“i always thought he lived for the sled. what he lived for, was me.”
no one will ever understand the bond with a fur parent and their children—in every universe, every circumstance. “they stay with you as long as you live.” !!!god, togo, sepp and constance. my heart aches so much.giving it an easy 5 for my heroes togo, sepp and the rest of the dogs who pushed through for the cure.

i thank all the gods and goddesses for not making me watch this in theaters, cos girl bawled her eyes out real bad.the first time he cracked and teared up in the entire film…
“grandma, come home with me.i’ll make you congee.”
it felt good to not be emotionally manipulated into crying and feeling so much (i failed). if you start feeling superior by thinking you’d never think of such a thing, try watching it again cos that’s the very thing. crazy how jaded the characters that you would naturally expect for their development, the typical changes and see some typical family tropes that would make you feel guilty, broken—but they never came. it was so raw. it was art. it was the lives of so many real human beings right on my screen. there was nothing to romanticize. i was just watching life in my screen for 2 hours.

reminds me of seven sundays, but i like this better for some reason. maybe it’s the kind of day i’m having. it also reminds me of modern family, but less funnier? love how they showed different families. i thought they’d play that as a mere background for the siblings’ characterizations. no, each family rly had their own personalities as dysfunctional as it may get. leonor & francisco, they’re so cute… like they can’t emotionally and psychologically separate from each otheri haven’t been able to watch these days without having to stop & continue the movie later, but this one got me seated the entire timeenrico, you’re—POWERFUL CAST

“dobby is a free elf” :( i rmb tagging goblet of fire (or was it prisoner of azkaban?) as my favorite among the films while i loved deathly hallows in the books the most despite the pain and trauma. not anymore. part 1 has stolen my heart whole. i’ve seen 1-5 countless times. half blood and this part, once. and… hermione granger, you GOAT. my harry, ron & hermione—my precious trio.
