WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE

by page 400 onwards, I was just a bawling mess. this, I think, is my first ever SCIENCE SCIENCE FICTION. I have seen tons in films, a several books in the same genre, but this would be the first in books that scienced real hard. I’m blanking out as I type this. I’m just feeling immense gratitude and happiness after reading this. I need every good book right now as I try to jump back from my reading slump and I know, along the way I’d still meet books I wouldn’t like. this week, I met a great one. will be adding more of my favorite quotes here later!!!! (I hope I don’t forget) mostly not wisdomful, just the ones I wanna keep with me for a long time.

THEY ARE SO DEAR TO ME (´༎ຶོρ༎ຶོ`) they made me laugh SO MUCH

“a woman’s minor social boundary became a whole marketing campaign.” I’m not sure I agree with everything she said about how the “girls girl” could be problematic or what’s become of it, but I agree with most of her insights. I felt like I was hearing my thoughts and feelings, but in an articulate manner. I’ve always felt uncomfortable every time that’s being brought up. everything has a label nowadays and it’s always the extreme. it’s all or nothing. you’re an angel or a demon, there’s no in between. there is no space for personality and being a plain human. people either romanticize and justify problematic and disturbing stuff so much OR they bend their ways just to label you as the worst person in the world. it’s my first time watching her and I’m a 100% sure this isn’t the last. not one second did I find myself drifting.

what is faith if it’s not liberating!!!! just like edward said, it was truly a blessing to hear her story. watching this reminded me why I became a fan of hers in the first place and why I’m still here. a fan of her acting first, a fan of blythe second. I say this because I’m a big TV show/film consumer and generally, I don’t really “stan” actors or become a fan fan. there’s only a few. generally, I only have my auto watch actors whose talents I trust. I became her fan when I realize how imperfect she was. in front of us. it solidified more came 2022. her decision to stand up despite what could happen cemented it for me. it was an easy decision. as easy as walking away if she didn’t. no drama. no hate. I’ll just walk away. it became more than a hyper fixation. I feel like I was growing with her. I could see how she has been unlearning and learning the same way I see it in myself. this podcast def validated that!
