Just finished watching it, and wow, what a roller-coaster that was. At first I had no idea what was happening. Then, I sorta understood the whole egg system. And once again, it lost me near the end. What happened to Neiru? Why did everyone else stop talking? Why did Ai reject Neiru's call? How did Ai become apart of the Wonder world in the second episode? I have no clue about most of these. Might need to watch videos that explain each individual episode. Honestly, I wonder if the reason that Rika and Momo felt so distraught from their pets death was because the animal gave them some sort of special bond? I mean, yes, they imprinted on them and saw them as their mothers. Of course they would want to protect them. But, what if the animal made some even deeper bond related to the world they go to? Because I seriously couldn't understand how they saw multiple deaths and THAT'S what made them break. Continuing on, animation was spot on almost every episode. The voice acting was great (japanese). And, the plot was interesting. I knew there were going to be heavy topics when starting this show, but, I didn't expect them to really talk about them so openly. Really puts things into perspective with how quiet some topics are. Especially related to mental health. For me, Rika was the most relatable in terms of coping. Her scene in her room with the razor was a hard watch and yet so comforting. She wanted to, but also didn't. There was hesitation. The way she portrays herself as this happy-go-lucky girl while struggling to keep up with the facade hit close to home. In a way, I feel represented. And I really like how more authors are writing about these daily struggles. Obviously Rika is not the only one who goes through things. Momo, a kind girl who gets mistaken for a boy feels like she's trapped in her own "masculine" body. Ai, bullied for her heterochromia shuts herself from the world and even more after her best friends suicide. Neiru, who was betrayed by her sister who stabbed (literally) her in the back and then killed herself now fights to bring back the sister and learn how to become more human. Many topics to discuss here, really short show, but good enough for what they worked with.

I was going to write this review ages ago but I kept forgetting. I watched the movie as soon as it came out, and, it was okay. Pretty slow paced but I think it helps for those who know nothing about the whole concept. It slows the idea for the audience and even if it's boring for those who know, it keeps new viewers curious enough to look into it. By no means was this a perfect movie. Certainly not. But I give it credit for attempting to even make it. The things that belong in the Backrooms are so abstract that it could be almost anything and also nothing. I like Clark's character, a man who got kicked out of his own home, going through mental health problems and talking to a therapist while managing his furniture store was interesting. Boring in paper, but fun with his actor. If there's a sequel then this is a great start to understanding the whole ordeal. Questions I have? How long was Clark in the Backrooms? Why did he trust the other entities? When did he figure out he could cut/eat them? Did the therapist ever make it out? What did they do with her? Where are the scientists located? Is it in the Backrooms or outside? How are they able to hide their findings? What will happen to the characters that died in the real world? Are they ever going to find them? Many questions, which is what this setting always leaves.

You know, they tried. Not enough episodes (in my opinion) to really get to the botton of all the characters and plot. But, it tried. Did I like anything? Yes, yes I did. Marshall? My-oh-my, every time he thinks someone is on his side, he gets betrayed. The man cannot live in peace since everyone else wants something for themselves. What's this? A fungus that can cure all diseases known to man-kind? Yeah, let's instead get RID of it, SELL it and kill the guy who FOUND it. Ridiculous, it's ON SIGHT if I see that old lady try to kill him again. Anyway, Marshall is my goat, thank you for reading my review, and another one is next.

I know the rating doesn't look like it's a good show, but, it is. How do I put this... Yes, this couldve been great if it had some improvements here and there but the show is all we have aside from the manga. As far as I'm aware, the manga told its story differently compared to the anime. And even if some parts were confusing, I still enjoyed watching it. I like how you have two best friends who despite competeting for the same goal are still supportive of one another. I also enjoy how love is portrayed as something delicate that shouldn't be treated lightly. It's nice to see respect and care as an important theme to the goal the protagonists aim for. Though there is something that troubles me, one of the protagonists named "Chocolat" has a canon relationship with the antagonist named "Pierre". From what I've searched, she's ten years old while he is fourteen. I don't like how Pierre is portrayed as a really "mature" guy who also looks far older and even has to crouch when speaking to Chocolat. It's so, disgusting. I'm not a fan of their relationship and I'm very much aware that it's popular but I can't ignore this and pretend like it's okay. Aside from that, the rest of the relationships are okay, nothing like this main couple. Unless we start talking about how Blanca resembled Chocolats age as her human form in oder to get close to an adult man. Yeah, if he did like her that way he would've been a whole other case added. And what's ever worse is that Blanca is way older than him and sometimes calls him a "young boy". Then the fact that Chocolat got magic shoes to turn into an adult in order to capture Pierres heart. Not one person saw her as an adult hitting on a teenager as wrong. Like, I swear the story could've been great without all these unnecessary age gaps. Not sure what the author was thinking, but clearly it wasn't good. Aside from all these atrocities, I wished they showed Vanilla being persuaded by Pierre for more than just two episodes. She was always telling Chocolat to not trust him, but it took her a few moments of insecurity and two episodes to just trust him. And then it took ten or so episodes to be saved. What a short climax that was. And the ending, yeah, very anticlimactic. They showed the big villain once in a fight at the end and that was it. Unless you want to add the cameos there's nothing else. Just, give the show a try if you're into magical girl shows, love that is respected (and no, I'm not talking about Pierre, Blanca or any other concerning romance), deep friendships, and uplifting themes. That's all.

Where do I even start... Okay, so, this show definitely has an interesting premise. A young teenage girl who possesses the power of flames from an all powerful cloak and is against an evil that wants her powers which enables her from having a normal life. She herself wasn't trained for most of her childhood, so we start the story with her learning how to use them with the help of her grandmother, Gugu. It only has one season, but I feel like a lot of arcs were tremendously rushed. Like, the training of Jentry was literally just one episode, Michael's ability was never explained, didn't learn about Gugu's background, Kit simply died after all his character development and not to mention Jentry's parents with their mostly unexplained past. Though, I do understand that there may have been some fear by the creators that the show would be canceled because it aired on Netflix. But I think a better written ending would've been much nicer than having arcs start and end after just one episode. What I do give a 10/10 is the intro song for sure.

SPOILERS! In every social media app (I use) I saw this movie being recommended. Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. With such positive commentary on the movie I thought "ah, sounds like a good movie. I should watch it". And now that I have, well, it really doesn't live up to it's praise. I was under the assumption that (SPOILER) Rachel Chu was making her stand in leaving? She told Nick's mother that either decision wouldn't work so that's why she left. But instead, she accepts the proposal. I feel like that was very anti-clamatic. She could have left Nick's mother ponder about her decisions with the "happiness" she chose for her son. It could've been a good way to show that Rachel valued herself enough to not stay for something that could never be, and that being the mothers approval. Heck, she even said it herself "I'm not leaving 'cause I'm scared or because because I think I'm not enough. Because maybe for the first time in my life, I know I am". Well, this is just my opinion after all. Just wished the movie was as good as people said or at least consistent with what Rachel chose originally.
