you know what. i never understood the hype of mid 2000s crossdressing girls genre of manga series but i fully fw this live adaptation. the characters and their casting were so comedic their exaggerated reactions looked so normal and never stood out. sano is a classic and that ending was good but nakatsu deserved better AND he liked mizuki both as a boy AND a girl. nanba minami my phone number is

started when this came out and only managed to start watching s3-4 lately; WHAT IS WITH ALL THE CHEATING SUBPLOTS UGHH aside from that it was a good way to end the show

the better sequel to knives out rather than glass onion imo; loved the story and the mystery but maybe i'm too dense for the religious subplot with blanc and the priest

came for the 90s japan aesthetic in 2021, could not finish it at first because it was so hard to find anywhere. then a few months ago netflix finally put this in their library and i finally got to watch this show from front to back. i absolutely love old jdramas this literally feels like a period piece in and of itself. the opening song is also so good and the piano pieces in the show really serve their purpose. most importantly, this show taught me to view low points in life as simply a long vacation, which is a very good perspective. what i don't like is how it took them forever to get together and the unnecessary subplots; i totally had to force myself to watch on 1.5x speed for the last few episodes but the ending is so well deserved for the main characters and that, yes, their long vacation has finally come to an end as soon as newer opportunities opened up for the both of them.

my first jdrama ever and i was immediately hooked when it first came out. i didn’t know it was adapted an already existing manga until 5 years later. the Yuri subplot infuriated me cause uehara had no reason doing all of that, and it wasn’t even in the original manga. in season 2 sometimes i think uehara is a bum and other times i forget he really has a soft spot for nao. they should have brought issei back in season 2 i’m so mad. it took me like 6 years to finish season 2 cause of how infuriating the secondary leads are omfg dont even joke lad. because it was my first drama ever this show will forever be ingrained into my memory ❤️‍🩹

total utilitarianism piece. vanessa’s happiness (comfort) of her parents staying together while clearly being unhappy, or everyone’s happiness and the ability to move on and forward with their lives - even if that means vanessa’s parents won’t ever be together again? came in for hugh laurie and leighton meester, got absolutely fucked with because of the age gap amd the AFFAIR?? and came out with: when you’re feeling unhappy, sometimes you just need something so absurd to help you find what you’re truly meant for, or what you’re meant to do. take a leap, take the risk.

i actually love the plot and the story was interesting and was heavily rooting for the characters, but i was so disappointed at that ending because why did the side characters get married all of a sudden and why was the timeskip scene like that?? getting married i can get behind and was actually expecting, but WITH CHILD THATS TODDLER AGE? they should have been at the club imo!
