[a throwback review] i remember seeing this drama all over my fyp, everyone saying it was the best romance and one of the best k-dramas ever. i thought people were exaggerating, but i get it why after finally watch it. i love gilchae’s character development here. it’s like watching a baby finally grow up T____T i’m genuinely so proud of her. MY STRONGEST GILCHAE. she’s everything. and of course, i love a man who yearns 😉 puas banget sama endingnya... THAT’S how you end a show. seneng dan sedihnya ada, pokoknya kayak campur aduk. they got the ending they deserve (jujur nempel banget di kepala dan kepikiran 3 hari 3 malem). abis nonton ini kayak semua tontonan rasanya hampa banget gak tau kenapa.

the whole zombie plague in joseon just makes so much sense now. every single one of her crashouts felt painfully valid to me. and that scene when she found her father... i couldn’t hold back my tears. there was just something so devastating about seeing what was left of her family after everything she had endured. she didn’t start out wanting to destroy everything. she was just a girl who kept losing everything until revenge was the only thing she had left.

rewatching this show again (gak ada bosen-bosennya) i think setelah rewatch jadi makin ngerti, karena first time nonton (season 1) ini terbilang agak telat dan udah lewat masa hype selama on-going. jadi proses nontonnya lebih lama dan ada berapa kali stop supaya bisa ngerti storylinenya. tapi untungnya there’s still some theories by fan left on twitter around that time. setelah nonton, langsung baca teori supaya makin ngerti. SERU BANGET!! chemistry 2 couple utamanya juga MANTAP. tapi please yaaa desprate banget nungguin tanya–eunseom ketemu, let my babies melepas rindu T____T

mau ngomentarin si tukang gambar aja deh, sibuk amat sampe lupa anak bini. walaupun dapet jawaban dari apa yang dia habiskan selama itu, tapi setelah sampai di ending rasanya sangat disayangkan aja. pertanyaannya, apakah itu sama berharganya dengan harga yang harus dia bayar? (mungkin deh ya, buat sebagian orang yang not really family oriented). lagian ini bukan film slice of life sih hmmm ... i love the dedication tho 👍

overall, i liked what the drama was trying to say about how women are often reduced to their appearance — how being pretty can make you more likable, but at the same time, your beauty is exactly what makes people see you as nothing more than something to be used. she just wanted to be loved and seen for who she was, rather than for what she had to offer. and mo-mi was right, they’re all the same. there’s always something they expect in return. her revenge might not feel as satisfying as i’d expect, but that’s what made it feel more realistic to me. because victims, especially women, are often left in such a vulnerable position that what they went through isn’t always fully understood, and justice doesn’t necessarily come in the way we want it to. i think i enjoyed it the most sampe episode 4 aja, and the rest of episodes, entah kenapa i slowly started losing interest. even so, ju oh-nam’s mother still felt like a strong character who helped carry the story forward. it’s interesting to watch.

[a throwback review] “touch my daughter and you're dead.” 🥶 this movie is basically one long father-on-a-mission moment, and honestly i had so much fun watching it. simple plot, but the pacing is fast and the action keeps you hooked. bryan mills is actually terrifying when he locks in. definitely a good & fun (?) action movie, walaupun plotnya pretty straightforward.
