I love this documentary. Seeing him at work feels like calm and focus at the same time. It feels like living. I'm currently in a rough spot in my life and I'm really trying to focus on it, on the things I cannot accept and on the activities I want to do. Sometimes it is what it is, but just because it is it does not mean it should be a bad thing. It's just it. Calm down, and focus. You do what you do, and you will do it. It's just this.

Last week I went on a research expedition in Valtellina, roughly at 3000 meters over the sea level, to see and document incisions on the rock over the mountain riggt underneath the Tresero. It was really interesting and fun, I met some people that studied Natural Sciences and the week passed by in a really relaxed but focused way. I might even hang out with some people again in the future!

I wa sso thrilled. I had the opportunity to talk with Andrea Arcà, an expert on the field, who also made a lecture in the morning. I was a bit... anxious at first, I was told that a lot of first recordings are crap but I was actually able to do a fine work! I also tried another technique called 'frottage' and I really liked it, the way the carving appeared on the paper was amazing.

Monday morning we took a walk in the area of the carvings to find new archaeological traces, trying to figure out a good way to take the survey. It was a bit hard for me, since I'm not as trained as I was before, especially for trekking, but I pulled it off nicely. Early on I met Emmanuel Anati! Literally a living legend. Right now there is a thunderstorm (like the one in my... whatever, you got it), and I feel really tired. This morning we had a lesson about the petroglyphs of this area, then we took a brief walk between rocks (because it wad already raining) and in the afternoon we started the survey again. Yesterday we walked for 13 km just by following the trail, and today I might've walked just a little bit less, because we went for s grid approach. We even re-discovered a rock carving (already recorded) that was hidden by some vegetations! I was a bit thrilled, but we were searching for something else so I didn't pay much attention to it.

We were supposed to melt under the sun while walking in some random town, but then they proposed to drive towards their mountain place, where time slow down. Sometimes I feel really happy, and that day was one of those times.

Months and seasons has passed by since I hung out alone with the person I met last day. I can never admit to myself how much I enjoy their company, their attitude, their silence. Last day felt like we had to hang out, and it felt like we never stopped to.

As far as I can remember, I always had at home a small bird house hanging to a wall. However, no chirp-chorp bird has ever entered that round shutter. Why's that? But that's obvious: spirits and deities do live in that small wooden cabin! A couple of years ago I cleaned it, washed it and made a small clay statue of a dōsojin, to protect me in my travellings. I found the proper string, I cut it and attached the shide to it. Year by year, the wind and the rain deities worn out the paper. Nevertheless, every spring that I come to live, I do a little bow, I take the wooden structure off the wall, I clean it and I make a new shide.

Finally. I had some igneous rocks that came from a small creek located in a northern region. I used some of those rocks for my researches and experimental archaeology, but after I finished my work I didn't knew what to do with them. Then it hit me: I'd build a dolmen underneath my cherry tree! It was so obvious, so stupid!

This song came by while I was wandering my head out of the train's window. For a moment I was back to a 9 years old, watching tv, feeling all emotions of the world.

Appreciation post for a music video that makes me emotional every time I watch it. I lived with all of the characters and creatures that passed in it. I do not know the words to describe what I felt the first time and how deep I was daydreaming, but I do know that I loved a cover of the song I casually stumbled upon, they have such a good and full voice.

I found one of my oldest pencil cases and I decided to wash it, put together essential tools and giving it a new purpose to assist me in fieldwork and study.

This anime saved my life. I cannot even commence on describing how it did it, but it has succeeded. As of where I am now, I could never be walking in this world without having seen it.

My mom has been a traveler her whole life. She has visited from Morocco to Hong Kong, from Russia to Egypt, from one side of Berlin Wall to the other and so on. During those times, probably when she got asleep standing near a wall, she coined 3 major rules for backpacking travelers: 1. Sit every time you see an empty spot; 2. Eat like it's your last meal; 3. Make use of every bog you see. Then I started travelling solo too. With a backpack, of course. Between museums and places I found myself able to coin a new, fourth rule: 4. Collect every free stuff you see (this includes brochures, free booklets, magazines, calling cards and more)
