oh wow. oh wow. oh shit. oh wow. why am i theodore finch. anyways, as i said in my record about the movie (which i need to rewatch after finally finishing the book) i read this over the span of..... 6 months or more? I read like the first 100 pages and then i put it down for 3-4 months and then i picked it up again. i often do this with my books unfortunately. but i had decided to put on a routine that i'd read for at least 45 minutes before id head to bed so i finally got the chance to pick this up again and FINISH IT🙏🙏 400 pages of pure crying. just like the movie 🥰🥰 i have been on both sides, i have been switching back and forth between theodore and violet. I KNOW at my core that i AM theodore but the person i am becoming now is more like violet. anyways i ugly cried until the end pls this was very hard mentally because i kinda saw my fate in there.

oh my god. This album came out at the best time it could have. I spent my summer YEARNING for my Willoughby because of it (i remember being devastated bc of nettles and then the whole album came out and I almost slimed myself out.) Ethel Cains story genuinely haunts me everyday it is so tragic. Haydens voice is gorgeous i swear she is an angel. This whole album just makes me cry everytime I listen to it. I feel like Ethel has ruined other music for me sometimes because of how deeply hers affect me. Anyways, little story time even though i don’t think anyone is actually reading but as I said before when the album came out i was going through a major heartbreak. I lost the one person i ever truly loved (which made me experience waco, texas in a very raw and deep way so thank you L, i dedicate this song to you.) This record became my "anthem" for the summer in a way. Fall comes around, still just as heartbroken, but handling it better than I used to (aka i was moving on but not at all I still wanted one man and one man only). I had listened to this album so much at this point i knew every single second of every single song. October passes, i get back in contact with my Willoughby and boom december were back. And guess what he decides to get me for christmas? The CD of this album. Crazy right? Anyways im stopping the rant here. Edit: my willoughby is gone yet again 🫶 Here are my top 3 songs (i love them all): 1.WACO,TEXAS / (recent add honestly) Tempest. i kinda explained for waco texas before but it is one of the most beautiful songs i know (and its 15 minutes long, which you don’t feel at all honestly). The lyrics mean a lot to me. For Tempest, its because i started listening to the album on CD more than on spotify and it is really a different experience that i recommend to EVERYONE alright? (imagine listening to this song really loudly on your radio while you lay on the floor next to it for 10 minutes, chefs kiss) 2. Nettles ofc 3.Willoughby's Theme HM: Knock at the door, Dust bowl

Every Ethel cain project is an immediate 5/5, 10/10, 1000/1000. I don’t speak about it often but oh my god Ethel's story is one of the things that genuinely changed me forever. This album was my introduction to her whole universe and i've been hooked since. I remember being in middle school and hearing ptolemaea for the first time and just being absolutely terrified in a way? Only her music gives me this feeling and i literally cannot explain it. This album has been tied to my soul since the first time I listened to it in full. Her lyrics are gorgeous, her voice is mesmerizing and i don’t think she ever made any bad songs? i know i easily give out 5/5 to albums but this one is probably in my top 5 or 3 favorite albums of all times. She takes you on a whole journey, literally none of the songs are skippable. I literally could develop whole essays for all 13 songs that are on here. It is obvious what i am about to say, but it is impossible for me to actually rank these songs because i think all of them are my favorites. but anyway here you go: 1.Sun bleached flies/ STRANGERS 2.Thoroughfare (very recent obsession i literally have it in my head playing all the time)/HARD TIMES 3.Televangelism HM:Gibson girl, a house in nebraska i can’t put the lyrics in quotes because id have to put the whole 1hr and 15 minutes worth of songs down so yeah they're ALL very personal to me and I wish i could talk about it to someone but i don’t think anyone would ever be interested by me yapping away about how "am i making you feel sick?" is literally me.

I literally have a story with each song and i had a period with each of them where i only listened to them so i can’t really rank them accurately. ABSOLUTE CINEMA.(and i say this as a person that doesn’t watch a lot of historical films.) I regret not seeing this in theater for my first time watching it. The soundtrack is just absolute perfection (i could listen to it all day long), the shots are breathtaking and OML DO THE ACTORS KNOW HOW TO ACTTTTTTTT i cried multiple times during this film. I might have to go rewatch it now hihi.

Comfort horror movie even if its not scary. Its one of my tradition to rewatch it on halloween for some reason i can’t get enough of it. the other movies are not as good as this one unfortunately.

i watched the movie before reading the book (i'm reading it right now) and i genuinely think this movie was the one to get me through a tough times. I am almost exactly like Theodore down to a T but this movie gave me hope to keep going even when i am "asleep". i have watched this movie at least 6 times i think? i remember the first time i watched it i was shocked at how much I related to both joel and clementine. I absolutely adore everything of this movie. The message behind it means a lot to me. (i could go on and on talking about every single detail of this movie i almost know it by heart).

Probably my favorite tv show ever. The characters, the symbolism, the plot EVERYTHING IS PERFECT. I heavily relate to Will and Abigail. i can’t explain how much this tv show meand to me.

absolute cinema. i cried almost the whole movie. Everything about this movie is gorgeous. and my god the ending? when we follow Na Young/Nora while she walks back slowly and arthur waiting for her??? the whole bar scene ??? the scene with Nora and Arthur in their bed??? It was obvious from the get go that I would love this movie. the second they mentionned FUCKING ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND I KNEW. I hope one day maybe i will reconnect like this with my first love.

i think this album might take my n1 spot for best fiona apple album. (my absolute favorite is when the Pawn..) Best songs on this album are (all of them its so hard to rank them because i love all of them equally) : 1. The first taste (this song puts me in a flow state i can’t explain,like the instrumental her voice EVERYTHING AAAA) 2.never is a promise 3. shadowboxer/the child is gone I CAN’T DECIDE i still love love love pale september, carrion, criminal etc but idk those ones are just mwah i don’t have anything even remotely negative to say

Gorgeous, gorgeous movie. As a film student and an aspiring actor i unfortunately relate a bit too much to Mia. The end with the montage truly broke me. In this movie you can really see and feel that every single shot took hours of work. I am so glad that even if they aren’t together, at least they made it, their dreams both came true.

this special will always have a small place in my heart. I still remember being 12 when this came out and forcing my best friend at the time to watch it with me in the park next to where we lived. i always come back to it once i feel a bit down to remember the """""good times""""" aka quarantine and covid. For 12 year old depressed me, i guess bo just spoke to me in a way no one else could. I used to watch his other specials as a kid after finding his song kys randomly on youtube at like 9. 2021 was such a lonely time in my life and i just felt glad that "someone" saw me. it feels weird to write about relating to a 30 year old man as a 12 year old but its okay. Can’t tell you how many times i cried to that funny feeling or all eyes on me alright those are my songs 🙏🙏

this movie opened my eyes. It's a true horror movie just by the way it shows the feeling of being trapped in the wrong body and staying closeted for your whole life. At the time, i was really struggling with my gender identity because i knew i was trans but i was extremely feminine and i suffered from deep dysphoria. Owen was too relatable and it broke me? i guess it made me realise i HAD to stop looking away from the glowing tv, i had to listen to myself. I had to BE myself before i would end up buried alive. It took me some time to actually do anything but now i can finally say that i am more myself than I ever was. Thank you A24 for this movie, it truly saved me.
