The Garden of Words
영화 / TV
what a heartwarming movie! ⭐ honestly, i didn't expect this movie to have such a deep meaning. i thought it'd focus more on the romantic aspects. however, throughout the film, almost everything tells about their personal struggles as individuals (regardless their age & social role) and the small things that help them move forward. from takao accidentally helping her to again gain, to yukino allowing him to "walk" towards his dream too. it was very moving... there's so much comfort in the story that it almost brought me to tears. literally feels like a warm embrace in the middle of a heavy rain 🌧️ the age difference was a bit concerning at first because takao is obviously a minor, but the confession right before she moves to shikoku didn't feel weird at all. instead, it showed how much they influenced each other and how that changed their lives which allow them both to grow :< i heard somewhere that although the anime has an open-ended finale, they do end up together in the light novel after both of them have healed and become better adults. it makes me really happy because they truly complete each other in the most gentle way. they really deserve each other 🍃

Princess Mononoke

dare i say this is one of studio ghibli's best movie ever. i can't say much about the art style because it's definitely a masterpiece, it's hayao miyazaki's anyway. but the storyline? absolute peak! ⭐ i watched this with my dad and neither of us expect the intro to be SOOO brutal. i thought it's just a simple story about a princess in some japanese kingdom because i didn't read the premise before i decided to watch. i just jumped into it and it's really really really unexpected x_____x among ghibli movies, i think this has the darkest conflict (let's pretend "grave of the fireflies" doesn't exist because, babe, i'll cry) as it tells about the clash between humanity vs nature 🌲. i do agree that neither san nor lady eboshi were pure villain, but it only applies to this movie because if we relate it into real life situations, we should probably just burn those powerful ppl who exploits the nature because they're just SOOO greedy. i'll pull eren back to life & let him stomp those ppl if possible (HEHE) some ppl said that the ending was disappointing because san & ashitaka decided to live separately. but i think, even though ashitaka serves as the mediator for both parties, he still needs to stay with the people because you know... even after what nature shows to them as the possible consequences for their greed, humans are still humans :/ i believe they're still friends & would meet once in a while after that. well, i do hope they'll date tho because i really LOVE their dynamic. but san might need more time to understand human's feelings so... the ending is already so perfekt 👌🏻

i've found myself playing this song on loop lately for no particular reason. i don't even listen to chase atlantic before (i'm just not interested yet), so finding one that makes me wanna play it 24/7 is just such a discovery! ⭐ i ended up listening to similar songs by artists i'm unfamiliar with. because all these times, i usually preferred to listen to lauv, lany, niki, novo amor, etc. but guess i can find this kind of music enjoyable too. maybe due to its... dreamy (?) nuance that makes me feel like i’m listening to it while riding/driving on a flyover at night. it's such a fun but not too hypebeat song so i can listen to it anytime. def a 10/10! 🎶

finally watched an anime movie again after sooo long and it was truly a masterpiece! ⭐ the concept isn't new & the plot is also not unpredictable for me, but it was somehow executed in the most beautiful way that it still makes me feel sad n relieved at the same time even though i've been expecting "that" to happen by the end of the movie the art style is so aesthetic & pleasing that i forget it isn't makoto shinkai's work (yes, it's THAT beautiful). the character designs looks so pretty and realistic too, but i specifically love the details in their hair and eyes. his green eyes and her purple ones <3 i also love their chemistry and how they act like anzu's personality isn't a problem in the real world just because he knows her better outside the class 😭 they trusted each other so much too while being so professional at the same time, so when they finally admit their feelings and confess, it makes me feel so proud like they're my own kids >_____< i can actually watch this anime for a million times for how beautiful it is 🌂

i found this song first before watching the anime & when i finally hears it in the movie, i got goosebumps! 🧘🏻♀️ it makes me think that i'm exist in the movie too & that i have to help suzume sealing that door >_____<

another masterpiece from radwimps! ☄️ i don't remember hearing this song when watching the movie (i guess i need to rewatch it), but when spotify plays this song on shuffle, i immediately know it's from weathering with you :p it sounds so beautiful, just like the others ost for makoto shinkai's movie, but somehow i love this one the most for wwy ost xixi

i feel so bittersweet whenever i listen to this song. in just four minutes, i could hear shin's scream when rei chokes him, lena running through the streets as the spearhead squadron leaves the republic, anju's silent cry and theo's rage after daiya & kaie's death, the despair the eighty-six children swallow every single day, the republic's ignorance, and obviously, #shinlena first meeting @ the lycoris flowers field 🌷

when you're literally lying on your bed, but you can still feel the wind blowing through the fields, brushing againsts your face so gently that you feel like you've reached the end of the most painful phase of your life :< then, you suddenly find lena crying in front of her boyfriend with anju, kurena, theo, and raiden surrounding them. in a second, you also cried because, finally... no more ldr for #shinlena 🧘🏻♀️

the way this song tells about taki and mitsuha's desire to meet again @ "the edge of the world" as they can't completely forget each other always makes me sad :<. longing for someone without even knowing/remembering who the person is must be really painful, right... taki? mitsu—wait, who's her name again? 0_______0

greatest anime of all time! ⭐ i actually watched this after hearing my sister's three-hour lecture about the whole plot, so i technically knew most of the plot twists already when watching it T____T. but it's still the best EVER like... pls, find me again in the other universes, aot. i'll watch you for the 2000 times just like what i did here #promise when i first watch it, i wasn't expecting the storyline to be so closely related to political matters. i simply thought it was a survival/action story, but the politican aspects definitely help the world building a lot. the main thing i also love about this anime is that every character has their own role. either a big and acknowledged one or the small yet highly impactful one. one prominent example, keith shadis 🥇 although the main characters are eren, mikasa, and armin, the story doesn't only revolve around them. we get to know a lot about reiner, jean, sasha, and even gabi, so it feels like every one of them is a main character ✨. the way isayama hajime (the writer) connects every single character and makes it all comes in full circle really blows my mind every time too. it tells how important each character is for the plot no matter how small their actions are. storyline aside, the songs... ugh, every single op/ed/ost sounds like it deserves to win the grammy. the openings always makes me feel patriotic for a country that doesn't exist and the osts are so beautiful, especially like call of silence. i love the way isayama doesn't only use german culture to name the characters or for the world building inside the story, but also to the songs. bauklotze, vogel im kafig, and some parts in the openings are in german so it helps to grasp the nuance more. another important thing behind the screen, the directors and seiyuus. i've been watching the same behind the scene of the production process many times and i'll keep saying this, the people behind aot are definitely respectfully insane. the seiyuus (kaji yuki, Ishikawa yui, inoue marina, shimono hiro, kamiya hiroshi, park romi, koyasu takehito, and many more i can't mention because there's just TOOOO many of good seiyuus in this anime) did their job really well. like... they weren't just voicing the characters, they ARE the characters 🗯️ i can't stop myself from rewatching this anime every month, even with full awareness that the ending won't change (i do love the ending 💌). it's such a masterpiece #1

to be honest, i feel like i've watched this movie for like 2982th times for how good this anime is! ⭐ it's my ultimate comfort-watch even though many people said they don't really like it for the conflict :/ it's not just the typical japanese high school students story as it actually tells about the students' awareness & effort to maintain the heritages in with love and determination, so it's really fun to watch them have debates & explain why preserving the heritages is considered important. and since the setting is near the sea, it becomes even more memorable for me. we also get to know many characters surrounding the mcs, so it's entertaining to see their interactions & chemistry ⛵ i really like seeing umi & shun scenes too because of how cute they are T_____T. although both of them realised their feelings way too quick, it's honestly still understandable since they're actually really related in some ways. i love their subtle yet meaningful interactions before they even know each other from the flags that they raise every morning. even though it takes umi some times to realise that he actually have been answering her messages from day one it's simply a comforting movie for me to watch when i need something calm but still visually beautiful. it's not fantasy like the other ghibli movies, but it's still fun & worth to watch during free times! 🦀🐚🐟

eyyo, high school series? it's definitely a YES! i've heard about horimiya a lot before deciding to watch it. and overall, it's really light and entertaining! there's no serious conflict other than the bullying miyamura experienced, so i often rewatch it while doing my make-up because their interactions and chemistry are really fun to watch T_____T this is simply a slice-of-life and high school drama filled with people i'd befriend with if they existed in real life. even though some of them are weird and loud (sorry, sengoku & iura), they are really supportive to each other :< i felt so happy & relaxed whenever i watch it as if i'm actually part of them 🙎🏻♀️ def a entertaining, light, and fun anime to watch for the 288+ times! ⭐

i have a LOOOOOT to say about this anime. alongside violet evergarden, i believe this is the best animation ever! ⭐ i don't understand about CGI and everything, but ufotable really did an amazing job, especially with the infinity castle the character designs and personalities are really unique and distinctive for each of them. mitsuri's hair is my favourite, the second one is kanao's uniform. when everyone literally wears haori and sandals, my girl wears a white cloak, skirt, + knee-high BOOTS. that's how i know she's a badass! 🤟🏻 can't even catch her progress in the hashira training because girl really moves up like a rocket T_____T i've read kny manga & i can't wait to see the ending of the anime because, well... a lot of things will happen, right? i'm ready with my tissue, but i don't think i'm prepared to watch the anime reach it final stage :< but anyway, killing muzan is the main goal here so that everyone (who's everyone...?) can live without being haunted by the demons. so, let's go to the end! 🚀 i personally think that the storyline is quite light & focused more on the slayers skills development. i haven't found anything related to political/racial yet, so i can still laugh when watching it up until the last episode ^_____^. i just wish we could see more about obanai & inosuke past tho :/ + pls, tell me how to adopt kiriya because that kid really deserves to be happy after everything 🕊️

"wait... what do you mean the story start after the final battle?" YES, this is frieren: beyond journey's end. when the usual story starts long before the characters face the final boss, frieren starts after 🐾 in line with the impressively beautiful art style, the pace is also slow somehow throughout the episodes. but it happens for a reason as the writer wants us to experience their moment through frieren's sense of time. at first, it skips through decades, but now, even a week seems quite long to pass. the story lets us to see how time works for an elf and how it affects her perception of human life some people said that it is boring, especially due to the slow-paced storytelling. but actually, that's the unique aspect of frieren that makes it my personal comfort anime <3! i love to see how each character named after one single word that describes them, for example stark for strong or himmel for sky. but throughout the story, we can still see stark being scared when facing the monsters which might contradict with his name, but shows that warrior is still a human anyway 🧍♂️ i honestly don't really remember how good the songs are, but frieren does have some cool soundtracks for the battles like zoltraak. and the character design... God, i love all of them. fern's lil bangs and the way she pouts, stark's scar, himmel's attire, and frieren's hair, everything match their characters a lot that it looks really good on them it's obviously a masterpiece ⭐

as a girl who grew up watching thumbelina, i find this movie really adorable. it lives up to the expectations i had back when i was kid of seeing lil creatures live along with human 🧚🏻♀️ it's visually beautiful, as expected. but if "the wind rises" filled with bright colours, this movie use the darker shades more so it gives the impression of something bold yet calm. i love arrietty's house so much! 🪴 it's not the typical barbie house, but more like a normal human house. when i realised that our small sugar cube can fit their biggest bag, it makes me laugh a lot because of how dainty they are. but then, it also becomes heart-warming when sho gives her one cube the next day T_____T i do get really annoyed with the granny tho :/ because if there's smol human living near me, i'd love to talk to them to know their perspective of this big world. even if i had to trade the information with a box of sugar or a piece of tissue for me, it's indeed one of the most unique ghibli movies ever! ⭐ i never read the story that inspired this movie yet, but the production of this story is really good. the other main character, sho, is way too calm for a boy his age. but we know he's been through a lot, so having a good personality is enough for me to admire his character idk about the ending tho. it's quite bittersweet, but what can we even expect anyway? it's not even a romance anime to start so the ending is already good for me personally :]

my comfort k-drama! ⭐ the main casts are undoubtedly talented. so, even though they're actually not that young to play as a student, they still made it look so natural. i like the chemistry between the actors, it's clear that both of them feel comfy around each other. so, their acting looks so genuine & it's really fun to see them bickering & being so salty with each other like back in hs >___< the plot itself is really light for me. no dramatic conflict and just realistic everyday problems. that's why i can watch this anytime without having to worry about the effect to my mood. and the osts, they're REAAAAALLY good! 🏅 i swear, every one of them is good, not even a single track will make you open you music app again just to skip it and find anything better. that's just how good they are once again, i love the chemistry between the characters. as the mcs, ung & yeonsu definitely has something between them, but ung and jiung's story also make me feel sad sometimes because for jiung, although he got everything ung's mom wished for her son to have, he's still experiencing the moment where not everything can be his, including yeonsu it's somehow really fair for every character. even for NJ, the fame and power she has can't guarantee her to get anything she wants easily. and she knows when to stop, she knows how to change it into something more useful & meaningful for herself and people around her :< overall, this is a series i found so easy to love. everything in it really comes together & make every second of watching it felt so comfortable 🌿

victim-blaming is a reality that many victims of sexual violence still has to face even nowadays. instead of providing their students with guidance & support, institutions often care more about their image in the public eye. sometimes, they asked ppl to stop sharing the evidence/media. although it somehow helps to protect the victim, they actually did it to protect their own image since there is usually no further action taken to the perpetrators. i felt so satisfied & proud when the characters throw the posters out from the rooftop because, well, that's probably not even enough to make the perperators realise how horrible their actions was. but if it can ruin their life even in the slightest, then we should always lend our hands for the victims. because no one deserves to live with constant fear when the perperators can still enjoy their life to the fullest like they forget their names is already written in hell for taking someone's rights. — it's definitely a good movie to raise awareness & educate ppl about the horrible effect of sexual harassment/violence to the victim so that everyone can keep their damn hands to themselves.

it's definitely a torture to finish this anime. can't believe i did that without bawling my eyes out..... i believe it happened only because my heart is already too numb at the end of the movie T____T i can't even spend the rest of the day without feeling the emptiness inside my heart 💔 can't really say anything about the art because i just love studio ghibli style a LOT. but for an anime from 1980s, this one is really beautiful and it succeeded in capturing the terror of living in that era such a really devastating story... i can never rewatch this for sure. rest in heaven, seita & setsuko! 🕊️

well, what can i say about studio ghibli's art style? the colour palette is absolutely gorgeous in this one movie. even the poster itself is already a masterpiece ☄️ i always love it when the colour palette is dominated by blue, green, or yellow. so, it looks SOOOOO pleasing! i heard that the story is actually inspired by a real person's life story with the same name as the main character, horikoshi jiro. idk anything about the man, but the story of finding your true love while reaching for your biggest dream is undoubtedly interesting. many ppl criticized jiro's decision to prioritize his dream over his moment with his wife, but as i can see in the other scenes, it's safe to say that he actually loves naoko deeply. it's time that is just too unpredictable... </3 the story uses "wind" to represent the passage of time and the unexpected moment in life. it brings inspiration, grief, happiness, guilt, hope, regret, dream, and many other emotional feelings. but throughout this metaphor, it can also be understood that those situations are just a phase or moment, like the passing wind. so, no matter what happened, everyone must keep finding new reason to continue to live & love 🕊️ + urggh, this anime is the one that makes me have double standard towards ppl who smoke. i know smoking is really bad. trust me, i also hate it. and i know what jiro did was wrong, especially with the fact that naoko was sick, but come on... it's jiro :/ but okay! minus 0.2 points in the review for the smoking part. the rest of it are still understandable for me, so it's still one of my favourite! 💘

i don't rrrememberrr the firrst time i hearrr about this, but it's definitely the firrrst experrrience forrr me to watch an anime that only have one important female charrractherrrs. and it's rrreally fun! ⭐ the arrrt is beautiful, the op/ed arrre also catchy. i haven't rreead the manga frrrom the verrry beginning yet, but i alrrready love sakurrra's charrracterrrization. the way this kid is descrrribed as someone so defensive yet actually rrreally soft-hearrrted in the inside. he trrreasurrres his frrriends a lot despite always acting so "annoyed" to any kind of affections done by people @ furrrin i also like the otherrr charrracterrrs, especially suo & kirrryu! :> because unlike the otherrr kids who look tough, suo and kirrryu always looks so composed. theirrr appearrrance is a total opposite, but i find them rrreally similarrr in theirrr fighting style, so it's rrreally enterrrtaining to watch! 🍿 still waiting forrr the next season! 0____0
