Resident Evil 4 Remake
게임
i know how fucking weird it is for me to say i am an re fan without ever playing a single game myself so here i am, playing the re4 remake i have never played a single shooter/survival game in my life so yes, to me this game is hard to adapt to just like wukong i didn't know wtf i was doing at first and also for fighting games as such (even though i know the mechanics of wukong and re are very different and they are different genres of games), when you get used to one type of them it's difficult to get used to another i kept trying to dodge in this game like i would in wukong and realized, fuck, i can only run or crouch 😭 anyway i am on ch.6 as i'm writing this and so far so good, i am enjoying everything this game has to offer my stupid brain just has to remember i have more than one weapon at hand ~ UPDATE 1: alright im on ch.9 rn, and MAN did my heart melt when leon told ashley that it's ok to be afraid 🥹🥹 bro leon is too sweet, after everything he's been through 😮💨 UPDATE 2: we're back in the re universe baby i would say hasta luego luis but that doesn't sound right :( rest in peace dude damn chapter 12 went by fast we bout to get a heart to heart with ada before she bails on us? 🤡 leon the hell do you mean by "have you changed ada?" what answer do you wanna hear bro 😭 honestly? can't believe ashley made it this far 😂 whatever the hell they injected into leon and ashley sure is taking their sweet time to take effect UPDATE 3: i feel like every game is just leon trying his best to move forward but his past keeps chasing him and he has no choice but to deal with it and get closure but hey, at least he got closure with krauser ch. 15 here we go UPDATE 4: i can't believe i made it to the final chapter but leon collapsed so we'll see where this goes (ofc i know we make it out alive but like, dang my boy has been through so much shit 😭) FINAL UPDATE: damn i finished the game that was fucking awesome

Project Hail Mary
영화 / TV
we're halfway through 2026 and i've already consumed some really good NEW movies that came out. hey, i mean, looking at the current climate of the world, i guess that's at least one good thing right? finally understood why everyone's been saying how this is an infj must watch, because rocky is that someone us infjs kinda long for in our lives but are too scared to admit (not speaking for anyone else but myself). they kinda just... welcomed themselves into grace's life, and though grace is someone that sees boundaries as something important, he kinda also just, silently gave permission for rocky to live alongside him. i dragged my friend along to watch this with me at 9pm and somehow she agreed even though she thought this was just a sci fi film?? 🤣 not that i'm complaining but i'm glad she ended up loving it. beautifully filmed scenes were only a cherry on top to the story of the friendship between grace's and rocky's (this movie is still trending on tumblr can you believe the impact it has had 😻) i will force my mom to watch it with me again and again and again 😏

Resident Evil Requiem (watch playthrough)
게임
one good thing to have came about in february i'm (ofc) not the one playing the game, because 1) it's so expensive 2) i don't think i'll make it out alive, so i am watching a full walkthrough of the game instead one hour in and we've got 8 more to go, but i'm not in a rush :) UPDATE 1: leon is so baby girl <3 victor said "or we can begin your treatment" and he was like "the silent treatment i hope" ugh i love leon's idgaf era, 49 yr old kennedy truly is superior. his looks and attitude, ah, absolute chefs kiss UPDATE 2: i didnt think resident evil could break me but here we are when leon stepped into the rpd, those flashbacks of re2, i swear to god i felt like a dagger went straight through my heart. it instantly brought me back to the summer of 2019 when i first discovered the franchise and fell in love with it. so yeah, it ruined me. the banner, marvin's name plate, oh boy oh boy, i had to pause the video for 10 mins to sob. ~ FINAL UPDATE: soooo i finished watching it, and dare i must say that was a real ride. again, i have so much to say but i'll try to cut it short. i really love the way they brought leon back to his roots, where it all began for him, only flaw is that claire wasn't mentioned or involved in the game, though i do kind of understand why since she is working for terrasave and sherry and leon are working for the dso instead. the thing that makes me come back for more is the continuation of the classic characters, leon, chris, claire, ada, jill and so on. they expand their storylines alongside callbacks to past events. in this instance, leon went back to racoon city, the place where it all started for him, and the reason why he is still doing what he is doing: trying to save as many people as he can, over and over again, even if it meant that he would die in the process. however, as an audience (and someone who writes), i feel like this is where it ends for him, not death, but where he, in a way, retires from the frontline. the subtle hint of him being married i feel is the perfect way to wrap up his journey. unlike most fans though, i do not care who he is married to, because i don't think that's the main point. for me, i think this is a sign where he has decided that this is where his career ends for him, 28 years of him living selflessly for others, he is finally going to settle down. he has taken down (i pray) the last of umbrella, he found the cure for his syndrome and for sherry, and he went back to where his career started, a sort of closure for his past, for his younger self. now, he is going to put that weight that he's been carrying on his shoulders for decades down and move forward for himself, for his potential family. overall, i think the way the devs executed grace's character was better than expected. in the interview where one of them said how playing only as leon just wouldn't feel like a horror game anymore because dude's been doing this for almost 30 years now, he is beyond experienced and it would've been all action and no thrill. so the switch up between grace and leon's perspectives allowed us to experience two polar opposite feelings throughout the game and in a way, made it more challenging. people who shit on grace in a non-joking way honestly need to stfu. for someone who has never faced such terror before, i genuinely thought she handled it so so so so well. the amount of dead bodies and monsters and blood and gore she saw (and was dipped in, yuck) is enough to traumatize anyone for a lifetime. imagine being thrown into an environment like this for the first time? yeah, i don't think i would last for more than 10 mins. we should be more empathetic towards people, especially in the world we live in right now. anyhow, that was my review, i just realized i didn't exactly cut it short whoops. and here below are my favorite moments from the game. hey leon? thank you. you did well.

Zootopia 2
영화 / TV
I SAW ZOOTOPIA 2 FINALLY! omg i have been dying to see this film since it came out and I DID! im not gonna lie i felt really really bad for nick throughout the whole movie, i get that there was a lack of communication between the both of them but i feel like nick has communicated his thoughts: he doesn't want judy to get hurt or die. judy on the other hand was on turbo mode and kept going, neglecting nick's thoughts and feelings. im glad that there was a confession scene for the both of them to communicate and confess their true feelings about their partnership. and no, no one can convince me that nick doesn't love judy in a romantic way, even just a tiny teeney bit.

still a masterpiece after watching it thrice pearl tv had it on for the night which i assume is because a nolan movie is out so they're rerunning some of his classics, and this being the most recent one the buildup from start to finish always has me hooked and on the edge of my seat even though i've watched the entire thing before visually captivating and excellent performances i can't wait for the memory of this movie to become blurry and rewatch it again in 3 years 🤌

Life Is Strange
게임
well, i guess the replay is finally done. (not kidding when i said i filmed my reaction to the final scene, i wanted to see how sad i look. i played the video just now after waking up, yo, i look like i was dying 😭) pressing that button determining chloe's ultimate fate 5 years later did not feel easier as i had expected. so many choices i made along the way i believe i have made differently, but sacrificing her? i stared at the controller for a solid 5 minutes and still decided to go with it. (fucking morals am i right 💀) growing up is realizing that all of them contributed to the mess that the reality had turned out to be. there was never a specific antagonist in the game (though we can all agree on the fact that jefferson was genuinely the most fucked up one and the prescotts are a reflection of what monopoly is like in society), the mess was a product of the tragedies that were everyone's lives. chloe's childhood and teenagehood which we got to know of in the game, shaped her into who she is. someone who is insecure, not entirely in control of her emotions, reckless, and kind of selfish. but behind this facade, she is still that kind, fun, and energetic girl who longed for connection and deeply misses and loves her dad and best friend. even her mom whom she grew to rebel against and "step-douche". a few entries back when i was playing a chapter of the alternate reality that max got to experience, i talked about how chloe never had proper guidance growing up. her father died, max walked out of her life, and she was left to grieve alongside her mother who was also coping with the loss of her husband and had to provide for the family at the same time. she eventually met david whom obviously, to teenage chloe, was a threat. she saw him as someone who was trying to replace her father and as a result, did not belong in the family. as a war veteran, david has seen so much cruelty in his life and to be quite frank, bro might have war ptsd, that the way he approach life is a bit... too much. he is headstrong, tough, and very insecure as well, ironically, him and chloe has somewhat of a resemblance, one of the sole reasons why whenever they are conversing, they just clash. (trust me i know this because though i hate to admit it, this is the situation between me and my dad 🤡) in a way, everything that chloe did was to try to get her mom's attention, and a coping mechanism of the things she's been through. she needed someone, and that someone, never appeared in her life. rachel was the closest she ever got to someone being there for her and understanding her, but she eventually walked out as well. everything combined was enough to crush an adult into pieces, let alone a teenager. nathan prescott, was the byproduct of a fucked up family. very much like chloe, he never had a figure in his life to guide him. he had a father, but that mf never viewed him as a son, a child that he needed to care for and love, he viewed him as a pawn in his schemes to achieve what he needed and the heir to the "throne" of the empire he had built. jefferson who he thought was that one beacon he needed in the darkness that was his life, turned out to be just like his dad, if not worse. he was someone that manipulated him and completed used him to fulfill his twisted desires of torturing young girls and photographing them and calling that process necessary for the sake of art. what the actual fuck. i could go on and on about this game for hours, honing in on every single detail and analyzing it, possibly writing a research paper about it 😂 but i'll cut it short this game that i discovered almost ten years ago literally altered my teenage brain, and almost ten years later, i am still able to learn from it and enjoy it. truly a timeless masterpiece ❤️

THAT WAS FUCKING PHENOMENAL I NEED MORE!!!!! and you know why it lost that 0.1 star from me? BECAUSE IT DIDN'T GIVE ME MORE 😭 no doubt one of the best biopic i have ever seen, i am so completely in awe of all of the performances by every single one of the actors involved. and jaafar? i'm falling in love with you as an actor i swear 🥹 your dedication to the role is so admirable according to jaafar, there's going to be a sequel diving into the later parts of his life and i am here for it, i can't fucking wait 🤩 when i say i wanted to get up on my feet and start dancing and singing along to the iconic performance of billie jean 😭 i was trying so hard to stick my ass to my seat cuz the theater i was in was so dang quiet it kinda ruined the experience a little for me, so my hands were doing the job, i was bopping along with my hands everywhere 😂 michael revolutionized pop music for the entire world, and his legacy and contribution to the industry was so significant that it changed all the generations after. we all know for a fact that he went down and will contiue to go down as the most iconic performer of all time. fuck the critics, say all you want mfs, this shit was fire 🔥

The Odyssey
영화 / TV
god damn i could barely walk after sitting for 3 hours in a theater watching a screen that spanned the entirety of the wall, from ceiling to floor, from one side to the other largest movie screen i've ever seen and it's not even the 70mm one, i can't imagine how wildly my eyes would be moving if i ever get to experience the original size 😭 let me write this review while the movie is still fresh in my head (i ended up procrastinating as always 🤡) solid movie that is in sync with how nolan directs his movies (not that i've seen many of his films but this one is definitely similar to oppenheimer). this is also one of the few things i admire about nolan, how the story is not told in chronological order, instead the story weaves in from different details and flashbacks, and it makes sense. the thing about modern storytelling that i've observed is that so many people try to experiment with non-tradtional ways of storytelling, where a story is not told from its beginning to the end, and end up failing. it's hard to execute it because often times it confuses the audience and to find that sweet moment to weave in a flashback or back to the present moment is HARD. you either make the audience connect the dots or you lose them. the moment i saw cyclops my jaw dropped 😭 HOW THE FUCK did he pull that off without cgi 🤯 apparently with puppeteering and honestly? respect to him and the team, true dedication to the art. necessary or not? that's up for debate but hey, it's done. oh and that one scene where they were going through an apocalyptic sea storm and the rest of the crew dies? yeah my eyes almost turned blind so thank you chris 🤡 should've given me a warning when buying the tickets, "bring your sunglasses or else" hats off to nolan and everyone who believed in him to pull off such an ambitious project, my god, brother almost included everything from both of the poems 💀

Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In

Blades of the Guardians: Wind Rises in the Desert
영화 / TV
im sad that i didnt get to watch the 4d version cuz i wanted to feel the wind of the desert as well :( but all in all, good movie with good action. listen, i don't watch action movies alright, they're not my cup of tea. i love human interaction that doesn't involve violence, but occasional violence doesn't hurt... right 😁 (DISCLAIMER: IN MOVIES ONLY) so i am in no place to comment on the action part. the dialogue on the other hand? not bad at all, i think mainly because it was adapted from a manhwua, and so there was a foundation in which they could lean on. i decided to watch the movie mainly because i knew very clearly each of the actor in the cast were experienced in action (annnnd because i've never watched yu shi in action so i thought, this is it, i need to see him on the big screen) and they weren't just paying an insane amount to famous actors who knew nothing about action. too tired to talk more about the movie tho. good movie with decent action, of course there were unrealistic parts, for example when dao ma and diting were battling in the sand storm, bruh it's literally impossible to exist in a sandstorm let alone fight someone in it. but then again, we don't question movie logic ;)

Avatar
영화 / TV
ay ya ya finally got this movie out of the way released when i was 4 and 16 years later, 3 movies out from the franchise, i finally sat down ans watched the entire thing right from the moment the audience is taken into pandora, there is not a single doubt why this movie is the highest grossing movie of all time. i mean jesus christ the budget was 237 million dollars, literally one of the most expensive movies ever made. and for a film made in the 2000s with such stunning visuals? yeah no wonder why this was the most anticipated and popular film ever. in terms of storytelling, the world of pandora had so much world building that needed to be done but due to the tight screen time (which 3 hours is a lot for a film but clearly still not enough for avatar) to move the plot forward, i feel like the foundation wasn't quite laid down enough. the bond and relationship between jake and neytiri was informed, and it was moved forward at a normal pace, but i would love to see more of why their bond was so strong, why they were special to each other, beyond their first sight, beyond the training, i needed more interactions to prove their unbreakable bond. gonna be honest, which is a very personal opinion, everytime the humans were on screen i got so tired 😂 i honestly only ever wanted to see the Na'vi and the world of pandora. perhaps thats my only criticism of the film, too many humans 👌🏻 on to the next one i guess, brb (i need to finish both so i can rush to the cinema for the third 😭)

The Hunchback of Notre Dame
영화 / TV
bro not me crashing out over a disney movie 😩 i literally had to pause this movie every 10 minutes to take a breather because it was either too much to bear or too insufferable for the eyes (a cartoon achieving this is genuinely imprrssive 🤡) ok, let me get the good out of the way before moving on to the bad. this movie definitely has its redeeming points. for example, the soundtrack. one of the best villian theme in the history of disney cinema. the bell of notre dame is absolute chefs kiss 🤌 i'm gonna have it on loop for the next few days yes, i do love the portrayal of esmeralda. i love that we have a fiery, bold, brave heroine for a disney movie in the 90s. a female character who is not afraid to point out the wrong and stand up for herself and other people. she is witty, funny, kind, and very much street smart, and i really admire that about her. HOWEVER, is it just me or did anyone else got the ick when she fell in love with phoebus? and the fact she ended up with him? 😭 i am aware that phoebus is indeed, not that terrible of a person, if anything, he is a MUCH better choice than frollo (yeah this guy can fucking burn in hell and i wouldn't give a shit. this psycho wasn't even an option to begin with) but throughout the movie, i cannot help but feel off about this man. i did my research and do know that in the original work, he was ten times worse. he essentially played wtih esmeralda and broke her heart. i know that the disney portrayal is so much different and they changed a hell lot of the story. this guy however, 😩, i don't get it. i still feel the male gaze, and he's just like, "wow! this lady isn't like the ones i've seen before! i am so attracted!" then again, i am aware this story took place in the 15th century, and the changes they've made to him already significantly made him... umm... more bearable.

this game stresses me tf out 💀 i don't even remember when i started playing this shit cuz i bought it like 2 weeks after it's release but i play it intermittently, like once every 3 months and each gameplay lasts like 2 hours, i just quit everytime i beat one boss 🤡 resulting in this long stressful dread that i have everytime i pull up this game, i'm like here we go again... i mean don't get me wrong, i do actually love the game. the feeling i get everytime i'm on the homescreen, and hearing that music, it reminds me of why i love my home culture and the things i have yet to explore in china. (oh and also the fact that i have NOT finished reading journey to the west 🥶 that is EXTREMELY embarrassing to admit as a literal chinese) anyway i have no idea when i'm gonna finish this fucking game, i might just be stuck here at 66% forever. who knows? am i gonna get the new one with zhongkui? umm... we'll see

and on that note, my 2025 is officially over. this show was the best thing that happened to me in 2025 (besides zootopia). i have so much to say about this show but i'll cut it short the way gay romance has been portrayed in the media in recent years has been shedding so much light on the queer community. they mostly surround the topic of coming out and the pressure behind it. but there's a reason why people still come back for more even if each of them surround this same plot - it shows a different side of masculinity that we don't usually see. i'm pretty sure hudson talked about the same thing in an interview with connor so i won't discuss much on it (and i am not very knowledgeable on the topic either) i love both shane and ilya but i love ilya not because of ilya, i love ilya because of how connor played him and that is such a weird occurence for me because i usually like fictional characters for who they are, not for how they are portrayed. connor is such a powerful actor, i literally do not know what other word to use even though this doesn't quite seem like the appropriate word. like powerful in a subtle way, does that make sense? he gives not only scenes with lines meaning, but the silence as well, and that's a craft you don't find often nowadays. anyway i need to rest cuz i just got out the hospital this morning recovering from a high fever. i have so much love for this show and the cast and crew behind it. heated rivalry you have truly made the last month of 2025 better. i can't wait to see what jacob has in store for us, but in the meantime, i will be enjoying the two books by rachel :)
