Oppenheimer
영화 / TV
It was a brilliant movie, though I understand why it might not appeal to everyone. To cite a few reasons: the raw plot is deeply historical, sprinkled with jargon here and there, functions as an autobiography on some level, and features a main character most of us cannot relate to or root for. I haven't done any research yet, so I cannot confirm if the most important details in the movie are historically accurate. As far as I know, the director himself stated that this was neither a strictly historical nor an autobiographical movie, meaning some information were tweaked or added for creative purposes. Because of that, I can only really focus on the main character's personality. Dr. Oppenheimer never claimed to be, nor did he act like, a morally good person—not to his family, in his professional relationships, or even to himself. The film practically shows us his journey of inventing a literal bomb that could wipe us all out. Him, as well as the people who supported him and his creation, I'd say they were all evil. Despite their high intelligence, they were fools. Someone even mentions in the movie that Dr. Oppenheimer is a person who has seen so much, which begs the question: why was he so blind? I have a lot more to say, but this is getting longer than I planned. On a side note, since I wasn't familiar with Dr. Oppenheimer before this (none of the history books I’ve read even mentioned his name), seeing other scientists I actually recognize felt like a series of cameos. It reminded me of K-dramas that bring in popular actors for quick guest appearances. Nonetheless, personally, it was a good movie. I also just want to add: despite Dr. Oppenheimer not seeing how the bombs fell on the cities firsthand, the tragedy was imagined and replayed over and over again in his mind, which I believe shows that he had experienced getting killed by his own creation time and again. Even while he was going through that mental torment, he was still being warmly received and cheered by his peers, the higher-ups, and whatnot—knowing why because it was already preempted by Albert Einstein, created even more internal conflict, as he had to pretend he naively thought those gestures were genuinely for him and that he should be grateful. From the very first hints of Dr. Oppenheimer's moral compass gouging into the depths of his guilt, he was forced to experience the same outcome in his professional life—exactly what Albert Einstein had experienced, and what he prophesied Dr. Oppenheimer's life would become. Except his burden was even heavier than Albert's, since he is practically the "destroyer of worlds."

So good! I didn't really expect them to completely break away from all the customs. I thought they would at least compromise? Especially since it's so difficult and you literally risk being branded as an outcast in your own society. Also, I just love Sherlock. I feel like our overall attitudes toward people are pretty alike. Despite being lukewarm and even apprehensive to some, we both still find ways to connect with others, friends, and loved ones by offering our sincerity and genuineness. And the editing, wow. That’s what got me attached to the first movie. Though it did give me that toxic thought of "I can do that too" geez Σ( ̄□ ̄Ⅲ)

Still not vibing with this one. Every time I get the urge to read, I lament upon just remembering I made a rule to finish books I have started. Yeah, I do read lots of other stuff, but for that particular category of books (idk its specific categorization), I just download one and finish it before adding another to my library. The primary problem is I can't defend one of the main characters, like how he perceive things wrongly and actually doing things all the while thinking of doing another and all the exhausting possibilities out of that other option. His acts were yeah, redeemable, but not that I will enjoy his journey of redeeming himself. Like I can foresee it coming alongside my highly possible grimace (all the bitterness I'd have ahh) while reading it. At this point, around 1/3 of the book, I am convinced that he was like those type of people who are far from being described as even wholly bad, but his character is simply unlikeable. To think, he might be the end game, oh well naurrr plz. No no no (*`Д´)ノ!!!

This series opened the doors of the slice-of-life genre to me. Never before have I wandered into such a lighthearted category. I watch shows specifically to be bothered, thrilled, or emotionally and mentally moved. I want them to disrupt my thoughts so much that I have to contemplate them long after they end and discuss them with others. In a way, this series truly baptized me. I got so into slice-of-life that I now use it like a "sandwich method" to balance out my other favorite, heavier genres. Man, I also think I'm being so generous with my rating, but what can I do? It's the only thing that managed to convince me to try out other lighter genres.

Drowned out the noisy streets as I walked to the bank and back home. It got me pumped up, moving at a much brisker pace. I rarely take public transpo anymore, especially since oil prices keep hitting all-time highs (×_×)

I just remembered for no reason. I never took a liking to animated movies, but this one is actually pretty unique. The main characters feel surprisingly mature. In other movies, they make the characters act a bit dumb (some even on dumb streak, so annoying) for the comedic trope, but it just felt so chill with them. Love Wade sm! Still hoping for the second movie! (pls don't cancel it) o(T□T)o

Haven't yet finished it, because first of all, I can't believe I'm "trying" to watch a 3-hour film. I already find it hard to watch 2-hour films. It's to the point that no matter how good people say they are, or if most of the people I know have already watched them, I feel like I'm on death row just convincing myself to put them on my watchlist. So, I paused it? Even I find it unacceptable to do so in the case of films. But man, I want to do other things as well—can't have my 24 hours down to 21 hours. I feel like I'm greatly reducing the time I have to spend today, as if I'll be doing anything grander than doomscrolling on Pinterest.

Good start. Casually watched the 1st ep and liked how lighthearted it is. As someone who leans toward thriller, sci-fi, and action, this is the type of stuff to consume in between flicks and reads. Kinda disappointed to find out it just dropped yesterday. Now, I have 2 anime tv series to excruciatingly wait for every week ackk (ToT).

A bit of everything. I'm almost halfway through the season, so it's too early to tell if it's heading toward an anti-climactic ending (which I absolutely hate). I really hope it doesn't, esp since it stars the great Grim Reaper! (ToT)

The only cof I have where hanging out requires zero planning. Just one quick chat and everyone is down to meet up. We just pick a spot, casually figure out what to do or eat when we get there, and let the rest follow. Honestly, not having much to deliberate on might be the actual definition of a perfect hangout. We vibed, but I do think the local government needs to support these small businesses more. The place could also use some improvements to make it a better spot for hanging out. I think it has so much potential if the local gov would just take some proactive steps.

Why are the days going by so fast? Maybe it's because the earth is reportedly spinning faster, but that's for sure just miniscule, maybe a millisec or so? Or maybe I'm just the one moving much slower? ( ´-ω-)

A day doesn't have to be a blank canvas to be considered uneventful, nor does it need to be a finished masterpiece of raw tension or profound beauty to be called interesting or pleasant. Sometimes, we experience storms even on the clearest days. Let's be mindful of one another and always give people the benefit of the doubt. /note (!): idk, got the flow a bit messed up, but this sounds like what i want to remind myself todayy, plz bear w me <(_ _*)>
